POOL OPENINGS & CLOSINGS

POOL OPENINGS

Pools should be opened anytime after the threat of frost has ended and through the month of June. Schedule your pool opening as soon as you receive, fill in and return our opening proposal so that we can accommodate your date request. Openings are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. This service includes:

• Cover removal
   

• Assembly of filter system, including filter, heater, pump and other pool equipment,
   

• Starting filter system (Water must be at proper level^*)
   

• Re-installation of ladders and handrails (slides and diving boards^** not included)
   

• Testing water and adding chemicals as needed***

*Customer must make certain that water is at mid-skimmer level prior to our arrival so that we may start the filter.  Additional charges will be incurred if we must make a second trip to start filter.

COVER REMOVAL

To avoid additional charges, cover should be dry and free of debris prior to opening.  Please inform us prior to opening if pumping or debris removal will be necessary at time of opening.

• MESH COVER – To be removed, folded and put away.

• VINYL COVER – Pump off a maximum of 2” of water, fold and put away.  Pin holes in vinyl covers may cause lowering of pool level when pumping off cover.  A large 3” gas powered pump may be required with an additional charge based on individual pool.  We do not dry covers prior to storage.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Please be aware that many repairs and/or upgrades to equipment cannot be performed at the time of the pool opening.  Our service technicians will, at their discretion, re-schedule a service call at a later date.

Additional services available at opening may include, but are not limited to:

• Repairs to equipment

• Replacement of missing, worn or damaged parts

• Vacuuming pool

• Cleaning gas heater

• Installation of solar cover – should not be installed immediately

POOL CLOSINGS

Pools should be closed before the cold weather sets in to prevent potential damage to your pool and equipment due to freezing temperatures.  Schedule your pool closing as soon as you receive, fill in and return our closing proposal so that we can accommodate your date request. Closings are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. This service includes:

• Lowering water level

• Removal of ladders and handrails (slides and diving boards^** not included)

• Draining filter, heater, pump & other equipment.

• Water treatment***

• Clean filter and baskets

• Blow out & plug lines

• Secure cover

Service technicians may, at their discretion, replace worn, damaged or missing parts which are necessary to properly winterize your pool, such as plugs, blowout extensions and cover anchors.

**Because of the dangerous nature of diving boards, our company will no longer, under any circumstances, reinstall or install slides and/or diving boards. 

***All chemicals used for pool openings and closings will be provided by Holland Pool Service Co.  Cost of chemicals is not included in opening/closing price.  Quantities necessary will be determined by pool size after testing water at the time of opening.
